People With Disabilities Now Have Adaptive Intimates Thanks To Victoria’s Secret And Pink
This 17th October was a giant leap toward adaptive and inclusive fashion. Victoria’s Secret and Pink launched adaptive Intimates, catering to people with disabilities.
This is like a metamorphosis for the brand, and at the same time, it will help them to gain a new customer base.
Over the years, the global lingerie brand has gathered negative feedback for its stereotypical projection of beauty and sexiness. With this collection, the company aims to end all those criticisms and take one step forward toward inclusive fashion.
So, the company has rightly worked on its blind spot and taken a journey in collaboration with Gamut Management. Gamut Management has been working with and in the interest of people with disabilities.
Gamut Management is happy to confer Victoria’s Secret its first seal of approval to any intimate brand. The company now wants to include women with disabilities with right, convenient, and authentic intimates.
Mindy Scheier, the founder and CEO of Gamut Management, said,
“As the first intimates brand to earn the Gamut Seal of Approval, we are honored to have partnered with Victoria’s Secret and Pink throughout the creation of VS and Pink Adaptive to ensure an authentic approach of integrating women with disabilities throughout the go-to-market journey.”
Victoria’s Secret has taken its two lines, “Body by Victoria” and “Wear Everywhere.” Further, it has worked on both lines and transformed them into adaptive Intimates.
Now, what’s so special about these intimates? Keeping ergonomics in mind, these intimates come with one-of-a-kind features like magnetic closures, adjustable straps, “one-piece construction,” a bikini silhouette, and mid-rise coverage. In addition, the bras and panties in this line are made of “sensory-friendly” fabric.
The company issued a statement about the collection:
“People with disabilities are one of the most underrepresented and underserved minority groups in the world. As a global brand and workforce, VS&Co has a responsibility to connect with, listen to and empower people with disabilities, caregivers and their allies to drive meaningful change within the global fashion industry.”
This range of adaptive bras and panties for people with disabilities is now available online and at selected stores.
